The week of June 11th through June 17th we were apart and it was so H.A.R.D! We’ve never been apart that long, and not only were we apart but we couldn’t be in contact. Tom was in Italy spending time with his kids, and I had girls camp with our old ward. The week was good for both of us, but it was really hard being apart! Absence makes the heart grow fonder though, and we really were quite excited to see each other at the end of the week!
Young Women’s camp was really fun! The girls were so sweet and I really enjoyed being there in the mountains with them. The setting was beautiful and it was easy to appreciate the beauty of God’s creations. We hiked, roasted marshmallows, cooked, crafted, shared, and really just enjoyed each others company. We even snuck a projector into the cabin and watched “Once I Was a Beehive.” It was so fun! I took a lot of pictures, but hey — that’s the best way to remember things! 🙂
On the last day of camp, I took selfies with all the girls and leaders and I’m so glad I did! These women all really touched my heart and I’m so grateful for the inspiration our bishop in the Aspen 3rd ward had to give me this calling!
