This summer we took a trip to Island Park to celebrate Mom Turley’s birthday and to spend some time with family. It was an amazing trip and it was fun to make new memories with each other there! As usual, we packed each day full and made the best of every moment. It was a BLAST!
The first night started with roasting marshmallows and hot-dogs over the fire…but we didn’t really get pics of that for some reason so here are two other pics from that first night!
The next morning we went on a bike ride with Carla, Lanny, and Chantelle. Tom is a BIG biker but I’ve never really ridden much. It was fun to get out together and we did a pretty good 11-mile ride!
After the bike ride, we floated the river. What river trip wouldn’t be complete without a water fight?! It was probably one of the most fun river trips I’ve ever done, and we even kayaked part of it. It was beautiful and so peaceful, minus the water fight moments!
Later that night, we went to the Macks Inn Playhouse for dinner and a show to celebrate Mom Turley’s 56th birthday. They were playing “Phantom of the Grand Ole Opry” and it was pretty hilarious! The food wasn’t too bad either!
The next day we went to Yellowstone Park, which was beautiful as always. We even saw a few animals along the way.
Our first stop was Firehole Falls… Boy, is it pretty!
After that we headed to — where else — Old Faithful! Coming to Old Faithful and eating ice cream at the lodge is a tradition, so of course it had to be done! We actually saw three big geysers go off, so it was especially cool.
One new thing we did this trip was visit the Grand Prismatic Spring. It was AMAZING and so cool! We were able to hike up to an overlook that gave us a great view, and it was such a neat experience.
For dinner, we ate at Wild West Pizza in West Yellowstone… It’s delish!
There was a really beautiful sunset as we were driving home… It was a great way to end another day of memory-making!
Our last day in Island Park was spent four-wheeling and huckleberry picking… It was so much fun! To say we got a little dirty would be an understatement, but it was totally worth it!
We had such a great time and can’t wait to visit Island Park again soon!
