Probably some of the most fun days of our trip were when we took the kids to Gardaland and Verona! We were able to take the kids overnight for a couple nights, and it was great to have some dedicated time together. We stayed at this really cute castle-type resort that used to belong to a duke and duchess, and it was really nice! We stayed in one of the guest house suites and it was nice to have so much room to enjoy! We did puzzles and played card games at night, and then spent time at the Gardaland theme park during the day. It was a really awesome few days!
Gardaland was a really fun place and it seemed the kids had a great time. I wasn’t able to ride most of the rides because of Baby B in my belly, but thankfully Tom was able to take the kids and since it wasn’t too busy, they rode over and over again!
One of the days we had in Gardaland was at the aquarium. It was fun to see all the sea life and it wasn’t something where the language barrier got in our way!
Another one of the days we spent time with the kids in Verona. It was a beautiful and historic city, with one of the coolest sites we saw during out trip — the Arena di Verona. It was built around the time of Christ and is still standing — it’s amazing! We then walked around the city, did some shopping, saw an actual olive tree (the first one I’ve ever seen!), visited the “Letters to Juliet” wall, and of course took lots of pictures!
It was fun spending so much time with the kiddos in these fun touristy spots, and it definitely helped us further establish the little family we’re trying to build together!
