On Friday, June 8, 2018, we were sealed together as an eternal family in the Salt Lake Temple. It was one of the most special days our family has ever shared and we are so grateful for the opportunity to have had this wonderful blessing!
Our sealing was such a beautiful experience. We have been looking forward to being sealed in the temple as an eternal family since we got married, and we actually had it scheduled for the Saturday after Isaac born! We were excited to be sealed and have him born under the covenant, but apparently he had different plans and came a few days before! But, looking back now, we wouldn’t change anything because having Isaac in the temple with us for the sealing made it that much more special!

The day was beautiful in every way. We woke up as a family and had a great morning together before heading to the temple for the sealing. We were supposed to be there at 2:35, but we were a little behind and arrived about 2:50 instead. Thankfully they build in lots of extra time, so we were just fine! We first dropped Isaac off at the nursery, which was a little weird for us to just leave him, but we knew he was in great hands with the temple workers. We then went to speak with the records department to make sure everything was correct as far as the records go, and after that we changed into our white clothes and robes and waited in the celestial room for the sealing. These moments in the celestial room before the sealing were so special for us!
We then went in for our sealing first at 4:20pm, and Isaac joined us after a few minutes. When we walked into the room, it was full of so many wonderful friends and family that our hearts were overwhelmed with love and gratitude. Great-Grandpa Turley performed the sealing and we learned it was his 772nd sealing — very neat! He did a great job and it was so neat for us to be sealed and then have Isaac join us. We could actually hear him in the hall before they brought him in — apparently he was just so anxious to join us! The temple worker then brought him in with a little buggy, which was adorable, and the buggy had a blanket that Grandma Joan made Isaac. Grandma Helen then held Isaac up to the altar and placed his little hand on ours for the sealing. He was a little uncomfortable at first, but then Grandma Helen moved him around into a position he liked and he was an angel after that. It was so special to have him there with us, and he even smiled and opened his eyes as Grandpa Turley was pronouncing the sealing blessings. It’s as if he knew just how special those blessings are!
After the sealing, we went outside and took some pictures to commemorate this special day with our wonderful friends and family. It was a very special experience and reminded us just how blessed we are to be surrounded by so many amazing friends and family members.
We are so excited to be an eternal family and are beyond grateful that Isaac is sealed to us! We have very strong testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is found through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and we know that it is only through the priesthood power of this true church that we are able to be sealed together as eternal families in temples. This is such a wonderful blessing and we hope that throughout our children’s lives, we can teach them how special it is and that they’ll too want to be married someday for time and all eternity to their sweethearts in the Lord’s holy temple. It is a beautiful experience that we will never forget, and we are so glad Isaac was able to be there with us! He brought an extra special spirit to the day and we just love him so much!
