The month of July is one of our favorites because it’s filled with two really fun holidays, Independence Day and Pioneer Day. Both were full and fun for us… We love making new memories as a family!
Our Fourth of July started with the Freedom Festival parade in Provo. We met up with the Clarks while we were there and we got a great spot right at the start of the parade!
After the parade, we packed a picnic lunch and headed up Provo Canyon for a “hike” (which turned into a walk since there’s not much hiking that can be done with a newborn!). It was such a beautiful day and the upper part of the river trail was pretty much empty, so we had it all to ourselves. It was fabulous! We even came across a snow shack on our way back down the trail and were able to get a sugar-free pina colada snow cone… It was delicious and the perfect sweet treat on such a hot day!
In the evening, we went to the MTC field to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks. We brought games and treats and had a really great time with our little family of three! Isaac loved watching fireworks for the first time!
Pioneer Day was equally as fun and busy for us! The day started early with the annual Temple-to-Temple 5k… Mommy and daddy have done this race every year they’ve been together and this year Isaac did it with us, too! We actually did a Temple-to-Temple-to-Temple race because we walked the entire race route back after in order to get to our car! It was a really nice day so we didn’t mind at all, and it was fun to spend that extra time together!
Since the race ended up taking most of the morning, we spent the afternoon just relaxing at home and then had a little barbecue and went up to the Harvest Hills trail to watch the fireworks across the valley. We found this spot last year and it was incredible to see, so we went to the same spot this year and it was equally amazing! Isaac loved the fireworks yet again — we love our July holidays!
