Friday, November 9th, we decided to leave Cocoa Beach and head to Orlando. We checked out of our hotel and drove up to the Orlando temple. It was beautiful! We’ve been there before, but it was on a Sunday and it was closed. Today we were able to go inside and do an endowment session, which was wonderful. We were actually the witness couple, which made it even more special! It’s amazing how the world can be so different, and yet when we’re in the House of the Lord, everything is the same and we feel at home. We were able to also do sealings after the session, and that was a really neat experience as well. It was a wonderful day and we loved spending time together in the temple!
In the evening, we went to Disney Springs. They had a really awesome Christmas tree display with trees representing all the Disney movies. It was so fun to see!
We had dinner at Planet Hollywood and it was really yummy! Then of course we had to stop by Sprinkles for cupcakes — so delish! We then decided to see a movie, so we went to the new Grinch movie. It wasn’t what we had hoped, but it was still fun to go to a movie together because we haven’t done that since Isaac was born!
Saturday (November 10th) we decided to go to Universal Studios. There was a little bit of frustration when we first arrived – the lobby attendant at the hotel who had sold us the tickets sold us tickets for the wrong day, so when we got to the park, we couldn’t get in. We had to then wait in line for an hour in the super hot temperatures and then pay the extra fee in order to make our tickets valid for today. It was crazy! Thankfully we mentioned it to the customer service attendant though, and she allowed us to exchange our tickets for no additional cost. Phew! We then went into the park and our first stop was the Jimmy Fallon ride. It was fun and interactive – we really like Jimmy Fallon and Tom had a great time on the ride!
After that, we were walking toward Harry Potter world and came across this street show where four guys were making music with construction equipment. It was pretty cool! Then, we ventured out to find Harry Potter World, which was hidden but thankfully we were followed some people and found it. It was awesome! We walked around a lot and then went on the ride (I was with Tom in line and then he went on the ride and I waited outside). It was so fun!
Of course we had to have some butter beer, which was super delicious! We also had lunch, which was pretty yummy! They’ve done such a good job with the displays and the sets – it was great!
We then left Harry Potter World to go do a few more rides in the rest of the park. (Well, Tom went on the rides and I waited outside, but since he was a single rider, he was able to get on most of the rides really quickly!) One of them was a roller coaster which was crazy huge and looked scary, but he said it was really fun. We also got to be part of an NBC user panel watching promos for a new show called Titan Games. It was fun to participate!
We then went through Harry Potter World one more time, and of course had to have some more butter beer! It was cool to see everything at night as well — it’s such an awesome place!
We ended the night walking through the park and participating in a live show, where at one point we had to take off our shoes to participate in a game that these kids were playing. It was pretty funny! We also were able to catch the evening water and firework show, and it was so fun! We loved our day in the park and had a blast!
