This past weekend we decided to go on a little adventure and head down to Goblin Valley State Park. It was fun to have a little day trip with the family, and even though we spent about seven hours in the car, the kiddos did pretty well. It’s so fun to make new memories together as a family!
We had talked about potentially going on a day trip all week, but on Saturday morning, we decided to just go for it! We had breakfast and got dressed and then packed up and left about 10:30am. Isaac insisted on bringing his “cool dude sunglasses” that he’d gotten for his birthday — he looked so darn cute!
We arrived in Goblin Valley a little after 1:00pm, but then because of social distancing and the pandemic, we had to wait before being let into the park as they were only allowing in a certain amount of people at a time. We were able to enjoy our picnic lunch in the car though, so it worked out just fine. It was beautiful once we were able to get in, and we were excited to be able to explore!
Also, we tried to get a nice family picture overlooking the valley, but with two littles, it didn’t quite work! Oh, how we love these silly babies!
We then put on lots of sunscreen, hats, and packed up the babies in our hiking backpacks and went out to explore… It was such an amazing place!
It was so neat to be able to just walk through all the goblins and explore this marvelous place. Isaac especially loved being able to run around and explore, though he seemed most interested by throwing around all the red sand!
We spent about an hour and a half exploring. It was then getting pretty hot and the babies were coming up on naptime, so we decided to head home.
We thought to explore more of the area, but it turns out it really is just the main “Valley of the Goblins” that is there. It sure was beautiful though and we had a great time! The babies were exhausted on the way home, so they were dozing in and out of sleep. There was some beautiful scenery on the way back that we were able to enjoy as well. It was a really wonderful day and fun to have this adventure as a family!
