The next day began with an unplanned visit to Niagara Falls, which was incredible! We then traveled on to Kirtland, Ohio and Hiram, Ohio as we continued our trek west!

When we were moving Tom from Boston to Utah, we decided to make a trip of it and stop at LDS Church history sites along the way. We traveled nearly 2,800 miles over six days with more than 45 hours in the car. It was quite the adventure and we loved every minute! Days 1 and 2 were spent in Boston and Palmyra, New York.

We’re only a week into April and we’d definitely say spring has sprung! Things have been really busy for us, but thankfully we’ve managed to enjoy quite a bit of time together!

Last weekend was General Conference, and it was so special to be able to share it together. We were joking that last Conference we didn’t even know each other, and this Conference we were watching it as husband and wife! It’s amazing how quickly things can change and yet how awesome life can be in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

One thing we’ve realized during our short little marriage (as well as in all our other life experience) is that it’s so important to take time to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. It’s not always easy to do, but it can make such a big difference!

We thought it would be fun in addition to this blog to make some “highlight videos” with our pictures! Enjoy!

Between our surprise wedding and Tom moving to Utah and my new job and us buying a house (more coming on that soon!), it’s a wonder we’ve had any time to do anything else! Here are some pics from the past few months.

Our first official road trip, the weekend we got married, Tom officially meeting my parents, our first visit to a beach, Tom’s first experience with Sprinkles, our “makeshift honeymoon,” an unexpected detour, crazy weather, and quite a few rainbows… Even though it was just a few quick days, we’d definitely say our first trip to Newport was eventful!

Well no one can ever accuse us of unnecessarily dragging out our engagement… 🙂 Settle in for what’s about to be a surprising and yet totally awesome story!

It’s so crazy and exciting and almost unbelievable at times to be engaged to each other and heading down the road of eternity… Neither of us knew life could be so full of happiness and love, and our proposal was certainly no exception!
